Graduate Admission Requirements

The College of Theology or the Gbarnga School of Theology (GST) is the only graduate program in theological studies on the Master’s Level, offering the degree of (M.Div.) for Christians who desires to enrich their personal lives as well as others who feel the calling to pastoral ministry.

The prerequisite for gaining admissions into UMU Graduate School of Theology

States that applicant must:

  • Sit and pass a placement examination and successful candidate will be required to also sit for an interview
  • Purchase an admissions package (application form & brochure for the program) from the school through the business/finance office. The application form must be filled out and returned to the program office with other documents as requested for in the form
  • Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college /university presents an original transcript from the institution
  • Bring three letters of recommendation, one each from university/college attended, prospective student’s pastor and his/her community
  • Write a 3-page autobiographical essay stating conversion and call to ministry

Graduation Requirements

Students cleared for graduation must achieve the below:

  • complete a minimum of 96 credit hours for graduation
  • acquired a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.000
  • do an oral thesis defense
