General Admission Information
Matriculating Students
Students matriculating to the United Methodist University are required to take and pass admission examinations in Mathematics and English. In order to qualify for the admission examinations, all matriculating students must have passed the West African Examination Council (WAEC) administered examinations, and in possession of a bona fide WAEC certificate, high school diploma and transcript from a recognized high school, two (2) letters of recommendation, and a recent medical certificate. Successful candidates are notified by the Offices of the Dean of Admissions and Records, and guided through the entrance process into the University.
Re-admittance Students
Students seeking re-admittance into the University after an abstinence for non-probational reasons are required to submit re-admission letter along with completed application
form at least one semester prior to re-entry into the University.
Students seeking re-admittance into the University after an absence for probational reasons are required to submit a re-admission letter at least one semester prior to re-entry into the University. Students in this category are monitored by the Admissions and Records Office for one (1) academic semester. Students placed on academic probation twice will not be accepted into the University.
Transfer Students
Students transferring into the United Methodist University must complete an application package and submit all relevant transcripts and documents from the departing institution of higher education at least one month prior to becoming a student at the University. Please contact the Offices of Admissions and Records for detailed information.
Auditing and Non-Credit Students
The University accepts auditing and non-credit basis based on the availability of space. All requests to audit classes must be approved by the Dean of Admissions and Records prior to the students benefiting from any class.
Students Support Services
The University provides a range of support services to students. All matriculating students who are enrolled on a probational level, are required to do remediation course in either English or Mathematics depending on the passing scores. Other supports include:
