    • Overview: Prepares students for leadership and managerial roles in various sectors. Focuses on organizational behavior, human resource management, business ethics, leadership, and operations management.

    • Overview: Provides students with an understanding of micro- and macroeconomic theory, data analysis, public policy, and development economics. Ideal for careers in government, finance, and international organizations.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND/ DEVELOPMENT

The Bachelor of Science in Accounting (BBA) is a four-year degree program that provides an excellent foundation in accounting and business. Its conceptual focus is designed to prepare students for success in a constantly evolving business environment and to prepare students for graduate studies.

Accounting is a discipline that came into existence like other disciplines improve the needs of society. It is analytical and is a service activity. Moreover, it is an information system for churches, schools, banks, hospitals etc. for effective decisions making processes during operations.

However, as you have enrolled at UMU and have decided to take Accounting as a career within the Bennie D. Warner College of Management and Administration (CMA), specifically the Accounting Department you are warmly welcome.

Courses that are offered by the department are drawn from the University approved curriculum by the faculty senate and are designed to provide you the understanding of Accounting concepts, principles and procedures applicable for today’s business world.

These courses in Accounting that are offered are intended to provide students with professional skills and training that will enable them succeed in performing various tasks in the accounting profession.

Consequently, these courses that are offered are taught by faculty members with the requisite qualification. These instructors and professors come from both the private and public sectors.
